T & T Salvage from Houston Texas/USA opened a new office in Brunsbüttel including a warehouse for high-quality salvage equipment to satisfy the European demand. To this end, the successful salvage of the SIDERFLY from the Kiel Canal, a joint venture between Hans Schramm & Sohn Towage and T & T Salvage was already agreed upon in 2012.
The official opening took place last week with an open house. The owner of T & T Salvage in Houston, Kevin Teichmann, the CEO Mauricio Garrido, and the CEO of Schramm towage Torsten Andritter-Witt welcomed many guests from the shipping and salvage industry. There was a large demonstration of all equipment in front of an interested audience.
Starting immediately, at the intersection of the Elbe and the Kiel Canal, with the world's highest ship traffic concentration, mobile fire cannons, hydraulically and electrically driven salvage pumps with explosion protection, ocean-grade solid-oil booms, hoses and other equipment for marine firefighting, and oil-water separators for rapid separation of oil and water will be available. The equipment is stored here in pre-packaged and portable 10' containers and sorted to ensure that a quick availability is guaranteed.
In order to guarantee the permanent 24-hour availability of this equipment, the provision of floating and roadworthy means of transport, as well as the weekly inspections of the equipment, the Schramm Towage will provide vehicles and trained personnel who will be available at a moment’s notice when there is a dangerous situation, especially at sea.
The cooperation between the Brunsbüttel team, the Brunsbüttel ship-trained firefighters, as well as the CCME in Cuxhaven will be intensified in the future in order to use all the resources for the security of the waters on the German coast together in a more concentrated and targeted manner.
